Sightsailing of Newport offers public sails and private charters aboard Sightsailer a 46′ sloop.  We’re seeking a full time, seasonal captain for Sightsailer from late May until late September. Sightsailer operates weekends only starting Memorial Day Weekend, then weekends only until mid June.  Then she sails full time, five days a week, Thursday-Monday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are designated days off.

The ideal candidate would be available from late May through the end of our season in late September.

Sightsailer offers both public sails and private charters, however the majority of her sails are private charters.  Sightsailer is USCG certified for 13 guests and is operated by one captain and one crew.  She is light, nimble, quick and easy to sail.

Private charters and public day sailing and sightseeing cruises in Narragansett Bay, Newport RI.

The captain is responsible for working side by side with the crew in operating the vessel and ensuring that both guests and crew have an enjoyable, rewarding experience.

Experience working in the passenger daysail or sail training industry is preferred.

Required certifications:
License: Master, 50t, Inland

Day rate,  plus tips.   Housing allowance, end of season bonus.
