The square topsail Schooner Lynx is looking for a deckhand to finish out the winter season of 2020/2021 in Saint Simons Island, GA.  After which, beginning in April, the Lynx will be heading northbound towards Annapolis, MD. The following month, May, she will move onwards to the homeport of Nantucket, MA. Lynx will sail and operate there until the end of October. Lynx conducts numerous education programs and public sails including overnights, day, and weeklong trips with students of all ages. Applicants must bring a positive attitude with a dedicated desire to learn, have previous sailing experience, and be able to work closely with kids and the public. Lynx provides an opportunity to learn square rig sailing through days sails and voyaging up and down the eastern seaboard and the Gulf of Mexico. Lynx is a liveaboard vessel with board provided as well. Crew receives tips from the charters and daysails. Lynx’s primary goal is to share the educational value of the war of 1812.

We are looking for individuals that can commit to 9 months’ time aboard.
