Winter Deckhand Maintenance Crew-Seeking 2 people who are interested in living aboard the Kalmar Nyckel and leading/doing winter projects. Our chief mate will coordinate the winter projects, and help get you oriented with our various shops (sanding room, finishing room, sail loft, etc.), and well as help familiarize you with our amazing volunteers who join us for maintenance work daily. We are doing standard projects such as refinishing spars and blocks, painting rigging and misc. ship parts, as well as some deck caulking and a few larger shipwright-lead projects, including a captain’s cabin interior ceiling planking repair. Duties also include overseeing/working with our intercity at-risk youth job training program. This is a great way to get to know our organization and our volunteers for future 2nd mates! Nov 4, 2021-April 10, 2022. Send resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
